Canon 1470: check the print-head installation
Canon’s G3000-series manual ties code 1470 to print-head installation. Check the locking cover and setup packaging before assuming a head has failed.
The short answer
For the Canon G3000 series, 1470 means the print head (called a cartridge in the manual) is not installed properly. Canon directs you to check the locking cover or joint button. It is an installation check, not proof that you need to buy a replacement head.
First, confirm which printer you have
Read the model label rather than relying on the code alone. These instructions are scoped to Canon’s G3000-series manual. If your printer belongs to another series, find 1470 in its own manual before opening it.
It also helps to note when the message appeared: during initial setup, just after a head was handled, or during ordinary printing. That detail makes a support request much more useful.
Check the installation using Canon’s diagram
Open the scanning unit/cover as shown in the linked manual. Canon says to press the print-head locking cover to ensure proper installation, or press the joint button. For a newly installed head, confirm that its label and protective tape were removed. Close the scanning unit/cover after the check.
