Canon 1310: check the paper size for two-sided printing
For Canon GX3000-series printers, support code 1310 calls for a paper-size check. Here is how to resume without losing track of the unfinished page.
The short answer
On the Canon GX3000 series, 1310 can mean that the paper size is unsuitable for automatic two-sided printing. Check the loaded paper against the print settings before trying again. This guide follows that series’ manual; another Canon model needs its own code entry.
Match three things before restarting
Look at the paper in the tray, the size selected in the print dialog, and whether automatic two-sided printing is selected. A document’s page size and the sheet you have loaded can differ, especially with downloaded forms or a saved print preset.
- For the GX3000 series, Canon lists A4 and Letter for automatic duplex printing.
- If you need another size, check your model’s supported paper and one-sided printing options instead of forcing the duplex setting.
Resume, then check the page order
Canon’s GX3000 instructions say to press OK to eject the sheet and restart on the front of the next sheet. The back of the ejected sheet is left unprinted. Stop cancels printing.
Keep that unfinished sheet separate. Before handing over the document, compare its page numbers with the original file: an apparently complete stack may still have a missing reverse side. For a long document, check one corrected copy before printing more.
If 1310 comes back
Write down the exact model and the paper and duplex settings that produced the error. Open the support-code entry in that model’s manual; this page does not establish a hardware fault or a need for a new cartridge. If the model-specific instructions do not resolve it, send those details to Canon support.
