This separates a printer problem from a device-specific queue, driver, or network problem. If either device cannot find the printer, check that both are on the intended home network before reinstalling anything.
Inspect the printed page and the paper tray. Faded text, missing colors, streaks, or skewed feed need different next steps; a successful print with a low-supply warning is not an emergency. Keep the model number and the exact message in a note so the right guide is easy to find later.

Read the error or status exactly, cancel duplicate queued jobs, and try one simple document after the printer wakes. Use the official support path if you see heat, leaking ink, grinding, a service-only code, or a repeated cartridge recognition error. If the deadline is immediate, a local print service, school resource, or trusted neighbor may be safer than a rushed repair or unsupported download.
